Two-Way Card!!! I'll Be Making Lots!!

I soooooooooooooooooo love the Tuesday Try A New Technique on SCS. I'm having terrible issues with Splitcoast today though.........so I'm sorry I can't include all the pertinent links! The technique is under Challenges and is a Two Way Card. I love this fold and it's really easy!! I'm sooooooooooo in Pink and Brown mode with the anticipation of my new craft room!!! Hubby decided to up the moving date, so we'll try to be ready by May 17..........I'm so happy about that, but dread the whirlwind packing! I'm being such a procrastinator about all that!! LOL I brought out the GLITTER for this card!! I cut out 2 hearts with my new Boho Blossoms set from MFT............that was the only "must have" set for me for MFT so far. But we all know I'm addicted, so I'm sure there will be more! LOL






I used SU dsp from the Close To Cocoa designer series and Berry Bliss. I thought some extra layers and some piercing would add more detail............I definitely plan to make lots of these little cards for all kinds of occasions!! Well, I'll see if I can get on SCS for the challenge.............if not, I'll have to wait until morning!!! Oh.......I could catch up on the Color Challenge..........maybe I'll go do that!! LOL

Prismas And Me!!

Have I mentioned that I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE my Prisma pencils and the Gamsol (Odorless Mineral Spirits) technique!! So I was waiting up a looooooong time last night for the Color Challenge. Turns out that I kept refreshing the original thread and didn't look for a new thread with the challenge...........DUH!!! LOL But it's okay.........I'll get to play catch up with the challenges this week!! I did get to play with some of my WishRAK images. I'm really enjoying WishRAK, but I have tons of wishes that I haven't specified 'cuz I already own so many stamps!!! LOL



I do love these little Hedgies!! But I'm so in love with my House Mousies and Gruffies, so they get my money!!! LOL But I got some adorable Hedgie images and enjoyed coloring! I have some Birthdays coming up that I need some cards for!! So I just enjoyed playing with colors and nesties and dp! I also just HAD to make a pink and brown Hedgie card! She kinda represents my thoughts of my new craft room colors!!



I'm taking the night off from card-making tonite...........I KNOW!!!! SHOCK!!! But I twisted my wrist cleaning the bathroom and doing laundry........yeah.....who says Housework isn't dangerous and we don't deserve Hazard Pay??!!! Lovely As A Tree

I finally inked up this set!! I'd wanted it for so long.......but it came when I got a ton of new stuff and I kinda-sorta forgot about it!! LOL Don't tell my dh that............I'm still working on convincing him just WHY I need new stamps often!!! LOL

The SCS Featured Stamper was perfect for this set!! I basically kept a similar layout...which is really cool!!! I thought this set is really perfect for sympathy or thinking of you cards. I know I make lots of girlie and bling-y cards!! So I figured I'd make some more appropriate for masculine or solemn occasions. The sentiment is from the new Gina K. Comfort & Peace set. I kept it fairly monochromatic in Creamy Caramel and Vanilla with a bit of Chocolate Chip.

I'm in the middle of the Safari Inspiration challenge card............ummmmmmmm.........it's not going as planned and I nearly threw the whole thing in the trash!!! LOL So I decided to go watch t.v. with dh and try again tomorrow!! Sometimes that just happens!! Ah well.............please tell me I'm not alone!!! "See" you all tomorrow my friends!!!

Gina K. Release Party Challenges

Okeedokee..............so here are the 3 cards I made for the party challenges!! You know my addiction to Gina K. stamps!!!! LOL Making this a quick post as I'm actually exhausted and it's NOT even midnight yet!!!! LOL So I'm hoping to try to catch up on some sleep as a friend (hey Keri!!) and I will be stamping "together" online tomorrow!! Lots of new stuff to play with and other challenges from this week to catch up on too!!






These were for the Sketch challenges............those are really fun and I love to see how close to the sketch I can come but try to add a little something different. I inked up one of my Gina K. Kindred Spirits stamps and Cammie's Framed Flowers for these two cards.





This one was a Color challenge...........So Saffron, Old Olive and Very Vanilla. I used Gina's Spring Blooms set for this.


Hopefully I'll catch up with all of you when I'm fresh and awake and rarin' to create!!!! LOL

It's 3 A.M..................Where Are You????

Well...........I'm awake and stamping!!! LOL Like that's any huge surprise, eh??? Well, this time I have to completely blame myself as I went with dh to his office to help out and then he took me to dinner (yeah, it was such a chore!! LOL). So I get my new shhhhhhtufffffff from Gina K. today and now I absolutely MUST create at least a little something before I go to bed!!! Well........it's nothing fancy, but yesterday's Ways To Use It Challenge I was playing in was to use scissors, and cutting out those giraffes was NOT a quick task!!! So........very quick post as I **really** need to get some sleep and do some major packing in the next few days!!!






I used Melanie's new Hip Hop Accessories stamp set...............of course you all KNEW I'd be getting that one!!! LOL And along with my new Nursery DCWV Glitter Pack.........I just had to make a sweet, lil baby girl card!! So it's mommy and daughter 'raffie card!!! And just a touch of my Spica glitter pen to their eyes and hooves.........every girlie girl needs at least a LITTLE bit of glitz!!! ;)

Okeedokee............I have more new Gina K. sets and my first MFT set (Boho Blossoms) to play with, so I'll be creating and posting more soon!!!!

Rhinestone Cowgirl!!

Soooooo.........Today's Sketch Challenge (yes, technically it IS today!! LOL) was just perfect for this idea I've had ever since I got my new Bronc Buster stamp set!! YEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAW!!!! Yes...........a Blingy Cowgirl!! And they sure DO exist!!! I may not have been raised on a ranch (although I'm just positive that my real parents live on a ranch somewhere and are still looking for me! yes, this is the fantasy that helped me thru a very bad childhood!! too bad it's not true!). Oh well........but I **have** worn pink cowboy boots and I had a pair of white cowboy boots with tassels and rhinestones!! That was pre-pregnancy and let's just say my chest wasn't the only part of me to permanently change!! LOLOL Sorry if that was TMI!!! ***wink, wink***




So what could be better than a Pink cowgirl all glittered up?? Throw some extra rhinestones on just 'cuz!! And my wonderful Flybaby friend, Christi (RazorbackFan on SCS) sent me a fun b-day package with lots of goodies and these Sparkle Brads were among them! Does she know me or what??!! LOL I'll alsoshare some special and wonderful Birthday RAKs I've received!! I'm truly blessed!!

Well, off to try to get some sleep.........and then to finish the 3rd Gina K. party challenge. I'll show you all 3 of them tomorrow. The date to upload them was extended to Thursday night at 7 p.m. Central Time. And maybe I should do at least a **little** bit of packing??? Naaaahhhhhh.......I have teenagers!!! LOL Just remind me not to complain when things aren't packed with any sort of care and organization!!!! HAHA!!!!

Chocolatey Goodness!!!

First..........thank you so much to all my friends and new blogging buddies for the delightful and happy b'day wishes!! You brought many smiles to my face today!!

Just a quick post as I reallllllly am trying to get better at getting some sleep each night!!! LOL This was a fun combination challenge card............the Technique Lover's Challenge from yesterday was a gift card holder and the Color Challenge today was Certainly Celery, Pretty In Pink, and Chocolate Chip!!! Hellllllllloooooooooo?????? Did someone just say Pink and Chocolate in the same sentence???!!!! LOL





It really was simple to make, but I added the same amount of layers to each side of the inside ('cuz they HAVE to be balanced, KWIM??) and so it would not even come close to staying closed!!! So I decided to add some ribbon and just make a little bow to hold it closed. This is one reason why you can **never** have too much ribbon!!! I used a new favorite stamp set, Cupcake by Hero Arts. I colored the cupcakes with the correct SU markers and cut them out. I went over them with Glaze pens and Stickles. Of course!! I didn't have the word window punch to make the gift card slot, so I just sliced it with a razor and then made the little circle punch cut. I made my own little pink gift card just to show how it would look. And now I have a Gift Card Holder ready for a special occasion...........I'm thinking of making several of these in various colors and themes to have handy!!!

A RAK Project and the Gina K. Bash!!!

Here's a project I did that I found on the RAK group on SCS I joined recently. I've only touched the tip of the iceberg with all the fabulous and giving people on SCS and the ones that truly need a lift and a smile!! Well, one lady wanted to make a Tote w/ matching cards for all the women at her church for Mother's Day. Now, she has CP (cerebral palsy) and loves to stamp and craft, but has some difficulties. So there were many who signed up to help! It truly was a pleasure and an honor to make one for her!! Forgive the photos, the light box is all packed up and I'm struggling to take any decent pictures!!!

So, here is my Tote and Cards. I had some difficulties simply because we really were supposed to keep them a bit more simple and matching! So.......I left off all my GLITTER and used only sparing BLING!!! LOL I know y'all know how hard THAT is for me!!!! LOL These aren't really my style (this fact pointed out to me by my daughter!! she said, "They're not *you*, but they fit the occasion and the request just fine.)................don'tcha love honesty??!! She's soooo right!!! At least I hope they still live up to expectations and a lovely lady will be able to enjoy it!!

Well....................did you all go to Gina's Release Party???????????? Oh yeah I DID BABY!!!! LOL The links are all in the post below this one!! I'm tired after partying and being lazy!!!! LOL I ordered 3 stamp sets and got the new very cool free one!! And I ordered the really awesome corner Fiskar's scissors, the metallic paste and the screw brads!!! Just love new toys!!! Did any of you order anything??? Let me know if you did!! And definitely be expecting some new and fun Gina K. and Melanie M. creations on my blog soon!!!!

Featured Stamper Challenge

Well, what happens after a great night of sleep???? Insomnia the next night!!! LOL Well, at least it gets put to good use on the SCS Challenges!!! :)

This is the card for the Featured Stamper Challenge. A stamper called Sparklegirl!!!! Now how come ***I*** didn't think of that name when I first signed up??? LOL Anyway.........her gallery is so pretty, but this is the card that jumped out at me: Lilly. I really love black and white cards, yet seldom make them. I also pulled out my Morning Soft stamp, which I've only used to stamp wishes for the WishRAK group so far!! LOL I changed the required few things..........I made it a 5x5 square card, used a different stamp set, and used velvet ribbon and more brads. I also did the corners differently. I DID restrain from using sparkle all over the place. Really odd though considering it was Sparklegirl's gallery!!! LOL

I also made 6 matching cards, and need to make the tote to go with. I'll have that on my blog tomorrow. I better get at least a little bit of sleep!! Do you KNOW what tomorrow night is??????? Ahhhh........Springtime In The Rockies!!!

Okay, just a quick non-crafting post!! I know that many of my wonderful and fellow stampers and bloggers are blissfully welcoming Spring with Flowers and warm weather!! Buttttt.......Spring is a different animal altogether here in the Colorado mountains!!! :)






Look at what was in my front yard as our Winter Storm Warning took effect!!! Brave little Robin!!! LOL I always think it's funny when we go out and hear others (obviously new to the Mountain State!!) complain that Spring should be here!!! Ummmmmmmm........it IS!!!! Spring is an interesting season in any place you live........but it really can mean 80* one day and a Snowstorm the next here!!! But that's what keeps it interesting and fun!! We actually only ended up with about 6"........but there's way more in some drifts!!!!



Oh and quick update on the house..........YAAAAAY!!!! The homeowner's insurance will pay for the new roof.........I'll leave unsaid just how unreasonable and nasty the homeowners have been!! I'm just glad they actually already moved out!!! The roof has to be done before closing, so we may be delayed a couple of weeks, but that just gives me more time to pack!!!! LOL

Challenges, Swaps and Insomnia..........OH MY!!!!

LOL..........well, not really too new for me, but I at least put my insomnia to good use!! ;)






Okay, being sick and out of town, I was behind in getting my Flybaby Flower Swap cards finished.........so I thought up a quick and simple design..........I sure hope that's okay with my friends, but making 11 super fancy and detailed cards was just a bit out of my abilities tonite!! I DID get them finished and packaged up!! Not my favorites, but they're kinda cute?!






Ohhhh........the SCS Sketch Challenge was a fun one.......again!!!! I pulled out one of my new Stamp sets I bought at a really cute and very well-stocked LSS in Oklahoma City! I know I spent too much.......but I DID have some enablers with me!!! LOL I also opened my new Close To Cocoa dsp..........YUMMMMMMMY!!! And stickles and my new Sakura glaze pen!!! And chocolatey ribbon and chocolatey flower..........well.......I LOVE my glitz!!! LOL

Back To Challenge Fun!!!

Oh I sure did have a fun, fun time on my trip!! BUT...........it's so great to be back home to kiddos and to daily life and to challenges!!!! LOL This is just a quick post as I have 11 swap cards to make and 7 sets of 8 images each of my House Mouse May Stamp of the Month image!!! And Auto Mechanics class to do with DD and Learning HTML with DS. Hubby is working at home today too.........so I'll break and make him lunch in a bit. Busy, busy day!!!!

Here is the Technique Lovers Challenge from yesterday. It was to make a Double Pocket Card and featured an AWESOME and so easy-to-follow tutorial on Judy's Blog. I used some new DSP I just got from Creative Memories. It's from their Inspiration package. It's a fairly simple card, I mostly just did piercing. I used my new Baroque Motifs stamps. The tags I made also are very simple, as I plan to write a personal message in it for a friend's birthday!

This is the card for today's Color Challenge. Blush Blossom, Groovy Guava and Basic Gray. I also used Very Vanilla as my neutral. I wasn't quite sure about this color combo at first.......but as I started working on it I just LOVED it!!! I broke out my new Kind Thoughts stamp set. And the Swiss Dots bg seemed just perfect for the Spring-y colors!! And pearls........I love pearls!! OH and I got a Sakura Glaze pen, so I used a little bit on the butterfly wings!!

RAKs I've Been Blessed With!!!

I have met some of the most supportive women on Splitcoast!! And now I'm so happy to call them my friends!!! The first group I joined on Splitcoast is the Flybaby group.........and what a supportive and loving group!!! I was so thrilled and honored when I was asked a few months ago to be a Moderator on the Flybaby Group! A short time later and I feel I know so many of them so well.......and my fantastic hubby has now taken a couple of roadtrips so I could meet many of them in person!!!

Here are some of the TAGs (a fun game of RAK'ing in the Flybaby Forum) that I've received!! These are in order from Misti, Rebekah, Christi, Cory and Sarah. I have many more, but these are the most recent! And also.....just had to let you know that I got to meet up with 2 of my Flybaby friends I made on SCS this weekend in OKC!! This is the 2nd time I've been able to get together with these two ladies and do we ever have a blast!! Shopping, stamping, shopping, eating, visiting, shopping, talking.........well you get the picture!!! LOL Our hubbies and the little kiddos all went Geocaching and left us to just have fun!! I think my hubby made two new converts to the sport!!!! LOL

I also have made some absolutely fantastic and talented stamping friends on SCS (especially in the Challenge Forum) and through blogging!! Oh my have these women encouraged me so much and boosted my confidence as a fledgeling stamper!! Their blogs and creations are truly amazing and I am so blessed and so happy to call them my friends now!!! They may not realize it, but they're stuck with me for a good, long while now!!!! LOL I've received GORgeous RAKs from them!! In order these are from Donna, Jessie, Linsey and Carolina! There are more, but I have to take pictures of them!!!

Tomorrow we head home..........and as much as I've enjoyed getting to visit with dear friends and shop and stamp, I miss MY KIDS!!!! They've been awesome!! And dd had her first big driving adventure. We let her and a friend go to a Library Author Interview Panel and Luncheon in the city. By city I DO mean Colorado Springs.........I know it's not huge.......but still it IS a city and we were out of State!!! THAT was so tough for me to start this "letting go" process!!! She's an extremely responsible 17 y.o. and had a friend with her. And her cell phone. And a map. And friends on stand-by. And had to check in with me. (This isn't sounding so much like letting go now, is it?????) ROFL!!! Hey......this is NOT easy.....I have to do this in Baby Steps!!! Well, they made it down there safely, had a wonderful time and made it home safely. WHEW!!! The next time will easier, won't it?????

Back to (Semi) Normal!

Today I had to run a zillion and a half errands!! LOL But the best part was taking my daughter to her Writer's Group to find out that she won 1st Prize in a local writing contest! She won 2nd prize last year in a County writing contest! I think she's definitely on her way to her goal to be an author!!! Her blog link is on my sidebar, The Wordbender. Be prepared for a crazy, silly, creative, funny, confusing rambling blog!! She IS 17 and posts as many of her characters that she writes about!! I, of course, did my usual Michael's shopping while waiting for her!! They had some good sales!!! :) Meanwhile my big ole SU order came in today too!!! Talk about sensory overload!!! So I had to pull out a few new things to use since tomorrow I'll be packing as DH and I head out for a business road trip for a few days. I'm meeting up with a couple of SCS stampin' friends, so I WILL get some stampin' time in!!!




I made a quick Riley card for a Hanna Challenge.......I didn't know there was one til I stumbled back onto the member forum.......and I'd never actually done a Hanna challenge......or Riley challenge in my case!! So this is just a quick one with one of my new Rileys! Campfire Riley!! Isn't he cute??? I did have to make it and upload it quick before the deadline, so I totally forgot to put a touch of applique on the marshmallows!!



And this is my double challenge card. I combined yesterday's Technique Challenge, which was to stack ribbons.......with today's Color Combination Challenge, which was Glorious Green, Not Quite Navy and Real Red. OUCH!!! Those are not so much a favorite combination of mine!! But I pulled out one of my new stamps sets (Time Well Spent) and some of the new designer stack and just made a quick card. I'm not exactly thrilled with the poor thing...........but I did it!! Tomorrow I am soooooooooooooooo stamping something PINK and GLITTERY!!!!! LOL

What A Weekend!!

I'm soooooooo glad I was feeling pretty good for the weekend so I really could enjoy the VSN night on SCS!!! Just this nagging cough that will linger for a while, but other than that....I think I'm back to my old, normal-insomniac self!!! I didn't get to all of the challenges........but I did quite a few!! And learned some brand new techniques for me!!

Challenge D: Show Your "Purse"-onality. So we were to make a paper bag Purse using THIS tutorial. This was a brand new project for me!! But I really wanted to do some new things so I can grow as a Stamper and maybe, just maybe be on a Design Team someday!! I made just a basic purse though.......the 45 minute deadlines for VSN challenges really does keep me from getting waaaaaaaay over the top!!! LOL I used Basic Grey dsp....what else?? LOL I made the front pocket a bit too big......it really is a pocket though!!

Challenge M: Rolling Out The Red Carpet. Ohhhhhhhhh yeah!!! I'm still lovin' what's left of my Cerise dsp!! And how perfect for a red challenge!! I love snowflakes in red.....I don't know.....just something festive about them!! And I used some more metallic paper thru the Cuttlebug. I just love that effect!! And I used this Dragon Red glitter I bought not too long ago! 'Cuz I LOVE me some glitter!!!! LOL

Challenge N: Leather and Metal. I just KNEW I had to do this one as I love my Wanted Stamp set!! Now, this was another new technique for me. This is the Faux Leather tutorial. This was sooooooo cool!! I love it and I will absolutely be using it again!!! I will say it's another time-consuming one, so by the time I finished the faux leather bg, I had to whip up a very, very simple card. But it's not too bad and I so love this Wanted set........did I say that already?? LOL

I also made a couple of more cards..........but I can't post them since they're a SURPRISE!!!! :)

More Fun with VSN!

I got a few more cards made today.........but I definitely couldn't keep up!! And hubby took me out to dinner too since I haven't left the house in a WEEK!!!! YIKES!!! I almost didn't recognize myself in regular clothes and make-up!!! LOL But it felt good to get out and it wasn't horribly cold outside, so no relapse so far!! I'm hoping to finish up the VSN challenges tomorrow before the deadline!! I really am enjoying them!!




Challenge G: Fashion Flowered. Oh now I get to use lots of embellies and colors!! And PERFECT for breaking out a new Riley/Sophie!!! This is Hula Sophie!!! Isn't she adorable??!!!! I used my most favoritest coloring technique.........my Prismas and OMS!!



Challenge J: Favorite blue Jeans. Oh what fun denim color/style/texture is!! And a perfect opportunity to make a long overdue (no pun intended!! LOL) congrats Baby card to an SCS friend who just had baby boy #4!! And I haven't ever used this new Mousie stamp yet either!!



Challenge K: This was Wedding Elegance! I loved this excuse to use shimmer and bling!! Although honestly.......I did rather refrain in today's challenges that I chose to do.......a bit less bling-y than usual!! I just love this Mirror Paper!! And embossing it is so cool!! Although I had to hold white cardstock in front of the card as you could see my reflection like with the Travel Tin!



Challenge P: A Sharp-Dressed Man! Making a masculine card. Sometimes these are difficult for me, but tonite I used my FABulous hubby as my inspiration!!! A country boy, raised in the mountains and truly my best friend and THE best daddy in the world!!! Some of you have met him........and know I'm telling it like it is!!! :) I love this Wanted dsp........and the Define Your Life is really a cool set I'm enjoying!! I chose "quality", 'cuz that's what my James is!!!

What's In My Travel Tin?

Hey!! I MUST be feeling better with my creative insomnia back!!! LOL Yes, I have insomnia when I'm sick too.......but there is NO creativity that goes along with it!!! I even took more cough meds with codeine........I don't think there's really any codeine in there, do you????

Well........I'm laying there thinking about Melanie's What's In Your Tin? stamps.........and thought I'd make a pretty little Make-Up Travel Tin to throw in my purse! Why not?? So I found some Mirror Paper......it's actually not too shabby!!! You can see the reflection of me taking the picture!! I just put my little containers of Bare Minerals, a little brush, an eye liner and a lip gloss. I really am looking for a tiny mascara instead of the lip gloss as I rarely ever wear that. But so far I haven't found a teeny tiny mascara!! I just thought a bling-y little tin would be cute wherever I am, and it doesn't take up much room!! So there you have it........nothing brand new or earth-shattering...........HEY! I'm not completely well yet, ya know!!! ROFL!!!
