Hip Hoppin' and Hangin' Over!!!!

Well, I'm Hip Hoppin', but just a little sick............fighting sinus infections like I do every winter...........certainly not anything terrible........just kinda nagging. But it certainly didn't stop me from hangin' out with my Unity Hip Hop buddies on SCS!!!! Nor from doing the challenges!!! LOL And a new kit was released called Beach Days and Sun Rays....OH MY GOSH how cute it is!!!! It's definitely on my shopping list!!! She'll also have the other Hip Hop Hangover blogs for you have fun checkin' out!!!!

Okay, so the first challenge was to make a "gritty" card.........using sand, glitter, or something along those lines. Well duh!!! Of COURSE I chose glitter!!!! LOL But..........I used some coarse glitter that I haven't experimented with yet!! And I really like it!! I'm sure that's no surprise to any of y'all!!!! I haven't met any glitter I haven't loved!!! You know I love this Butterfly Beauty kit.........and it just went so well with my new Memory Box Sugardrop dsp!!!

The second challenge was to make a BRIGHT card!!! I do have fun with these and they always help me get out of my PINK rut sometimes!!!! LOL Although I thoroughly enjoy my PINK rut!!! I used my Copics and some fun Pink Armadillo dsp!! Well, I didn't say I wouldn't use ANY pink!!! LOL This is the fun Cupcakes A' la Yummy kit!! Now, this kit has been retired, but don't worry!!! It's been incorporated into a bigger kit with other adorable stamps, now it's Mix Up Of Cuteness.

And the ribbon..............look at this STUNNING ribbon!!!! I'm lovin' it!!!! Where did I get it??? Well..........a FABulously talented and very sweet stampin' friend, Brandi Parshley, has the My Little Ribbon Shop on Ebay!!! She's just getting started and already has some very, very pretty ribbon!!! Brandi would LOVE for you all to go take a peek at her shop and I'm telling you that you will love it!!! Especially if you're a ribbon addict like me!!! LOL

Now I just MUST share this photo!!!! My dd took quite a few the other morning........with the sunrise just coming up, and the layer of clouds just below us.......it was truly like a Fairy Tale!!! Our house is over halfway up the mountain, so it was amazing to be above the clouds.....it just looked so GORGEOUS!!!! Enjoy the view!!!!

Can you believe it has been ONE YEAR of Belli Challenges already!? For those of you who may not know what a Belli Challenge is...

Each week I try give us a challenge to use things we have lying around our stamp rooms or homes! With a constant flow of new things coming out, we tend to forget about the other things we have and they quickly become clutter!

For the week of January 28, Belli #52, we are hosting a VERY special Belli Challenge in celebration of our One Year Anniversary. Some of you may have played this game before with some other groups... We will be BAKING A CAKE to celebrate our First Anniversary of Belli Challenges.

How do we play BAKE A CAKE? Listed below is a list of cake ingredients. You all must pick 5 ingredients, and reply here with your choices, you can list them on your upload too, but don't share what the ingredients stand for, link them up here! Tomorrow I will give you the list of what the ingredients are equal to in Embellishments! On this second list is the corresponding crafting ingredient for the items you picked. For example, flour = ribbon (just an example - the actual list is different). Your challenge is to create a card with those 5 ingredients that you chose. You could wind up having to create a card with ribbon, chipboard, designer paper, buttons, and paint. This is the fun part. You don't know what you are picking!! Are you ready for this fun challenge?? Be sure to reply what your 5 choices are.

For my "Cake" I chose Flour, Sugar, Butter, Chocolate & Milk. Can you guess what the ingredients stand for??? LOL Can you see some "missing" embellies that I almost always use, but are NOT here??? LOL I used my new Unity Stamp Love & Meaning..........you know I {{heart}} my Unity!!! And this stamp is just so beautiful and such a lovely message!!! So here were the list of Ingredients and what they stood for:

Flour = brads *
Sugar = designer paper *
Butter = vellum *
Vanilla = ribbon
Eggs = scallop punch/nestabilities
Salt = watercoloring
Baking soda = beads
Chocolate = buttons *
Nutmeg = markers
Milk = distressing *
Cinnamon = sponging
Powdered sugar = embossing powder
Cream cheese = chipboard
Cocoa powder = hardware
Coconut = flowers
Oil = glitter or stickles

The ingredients I chose are marked with an asterisk!! Now I had to choose BEFORE I knew what they equalled.........because THAT is the challenge part!!! LOL But can you believe that I did NOT choose ribbon or stickles or glitter???? <<<>>> LOL I stamped onto the Vellum and colored just a little bit with my Copics. I distressed the edges and used pink brads to hold the vellum and large white brads since I couldn't use any ribbon!! The button I used is the cute dragonfly!! The dp is some of my FAVE Basic Grey!!! It definitely was a challenge for me............but it got me out of my comfort zone and I really enjoyed myself!!!! I sure hope you will play along!!!! Doodlefactory Cuties and CAS Bubbles!!!

My new Doodlefactory Stamps by Starvingartists (SA) are here!!! I just LOVE these cuties from the Valentine Re-mix!!!! My awesomely talented friend Donna is on the DT and made such adorable creations with this set that I had to have it!!!

This card uses Carmello and Sprinkles!! Yes, the images each have their own adorable name!!! I decided to make my own dp with these cuties!! And to use yummy, chocolatey, sweet colors!! LOL I used the sentiment from Unity Stamps original Delectable Delights kit. I just had to use some heart shaped bling and stickles too!!!! LOL

This card was for the SA Monochromatic Challenge on PCP. Actually the challenge is to make a monochromatic card in one of the colors of the rainbow. I picked red as you can see! And who better than sweet little Rose for this card?!! Isn't she darling?? A bit of stickles and some red pearls to finish it!!

It's FRIDAY!!!!!!! Which means it's Hip Hop Hangover time!!!! Have come Hippin' and Hoppin' with us on Unity Hip Hop Forum on SCS yet??? It's an all day Unity Stamp fun and challenges and prizes and chatter and yes, I know I tell you all that every Friday!!! This is for the Hip Hop Challenge to use some different type of trim on our cards.....I have lots of ribbon and fibers and trim OH MY!! So I chose the knitted look and added some pearls to make some trim that would match my green apple card!!! The image and sentiment are from the adorable Mix Up Of Cuteness!!!! And it is seriously cuuuuute!!! I had to use some stickles on the apple....although I think maybe I should have done scratch and sniff!!! LOL Okay, I've got a busy weekend with lots of creating......I hope you all do too!!!!

I'm a Limelight Six Chick and A Belli Guest Designer!!!!

Ohhhh just more fun and bling and stampin'!!!!!! I really enjoy the fun Belli Challlenges that my friend Christi introduced me to via her blog!! For the next 2 weeks Chris has asked me to be a Guest Designer with the Team!!!! And a girl just can't have too much fun stamping!!!! LOL

What is the Belli Challenge you ask?
Each week Chrissy gives us a challenge that will use things we have lying around our stamp rooms or homes! With a constant flow of new things coming out, we tend to forget about the other things we have and they quickly become clutter! This week's Belli Challenge #51 is to use Re-inkers!!! So I used Real Red and Handsome Hunter and my Niji Waterbrush from Gina K.........I love the richer color I could get with the red and then using a bit more water, a more muted look with the green!! I embossed "Love" down the side, but it's a bit hard to see. I'm also having fun with some corner rounders and bling!!! Of course!!! Heeeeeeeere's HHH and a Limelight Thursday Sketch!!!!!!!!!!!

Howdy my fellow Hip Hop Hangover buddies!!!!! LOL Didja party yesterday with us at the Unity Hip Hop??? Is that why you're seeing DOUBLE the bunnies???? ROFL!!!!!! Okay, well, as well as the INCREDIBLE honor of being featured on Angela's Blog this week, I also posted my first project as Limelight's January Guest DT member and now this HHH post!! What do they have in common?? ALLLLLLLLLLL of them feature creations made with my super fun Unity Stamps!!!!! While you're at Angela's Blog.....check out the amazing sales!!!!

This card was for the Hip Hop Dazzle challenge. We were to use rhinestones.......oh you know how very difficult that was for me!!! LOL Yes, I have tons of rhintestones and just ordered a bunch more from Limelight!! 'Cuz I love the colors!!!! I'm an addict, what can I say???? ;) I love this sentiment.........okay, truth be told, one of the things I love about Unity (one I said....there are TONS!) are the amazing sentiments!!!! Having such a meaningful and special quote as the focal point on a card is just so cool!!! This one is called Leave A Trail.....and I guess I was in a rather Spring-y, Pastel-y mood, wasn't I??!!!

And this aaaaadorable stamp is from the December Kit Of Month. It's such a fun sentiment stamp!!! And it totally begged to be all blinged up!!!! Seriously....it did!!! LOL See why I really love winter??? 'Cuz I can make my own Springtime feel anytime I want!!! Thursday was Limelight Papercrafts Sketch Challenge!! YEP! I have been crafting away like crazy but somehow totally missed this!!! I sure hope I'm forgiven.........I'm only a day late!!! Actually only a few hours as it's the middle of the night!! LOL I do love Sketch Challenges!!!! And this one was so fun!!! I used Unity Stamps Love & Meaning. For texture I used some textured dual colored ribbon and lots of bling!!! I got the rhinestones and chocolate pearls at Limelight!!! I have stocked up on bling as Mandy carries the most beautiful Embellishments!!! She also carries the WONderful Unity Stamps!!! Unity ROCKS!!!!

Oh you know I {{{heart}}} my Unity Stamps!!!! And I've totally just LOVED being in the Kit of the Month Club!!! And you all know Angela is just so sweet and showcases her customers and friends.........because all of her customers **become** her friends!!!! Unity has such a unique style....so many fun stamps and some awesomely created just for scrapbooking!!! Which will help me finally really get TO all the scrapbooking that needs to be accomplished here!!!! LOL


This card uses this Bliss stamp from the December KOM. I love the cute and funky sentiments!!! It's all I really needed to add to this adorable Basic Grey paper!!!

Now this is one of my FAVES!! Okay, seriously my Unity Stamp faves contains almost all the stamps!!! ROFL!!! But this tree is soooo cool!!!! It's part of the November KOM and it's designed by the amazing Lindsay Spencer!!! The "Life" sentiment is from the December KOM.....see??? You need to sign up as they are a seriously fabulous deal too!!!! This time I thought I'd stamp the circles of the tree on dp and pop them up. I just HAD to add some Stickles too!!! LOL

This card uses this FABulous tree again!!! I made this for our weekly Etsy Challenge that Ashley hosts!!! This is for Etsy Inspired #18 and you still have time to play along and enter for a prize!!! I decided I was making too many pink and girlie cards lately........so I thought I'd try to "stretch" a bit and make several cards without using pink!!! I did it!!!! Of course, I wasn't able to go several cards without using sparkle and glitter!!! LOL The sentiment is from the Eco Chic kit and is soooo cool!!!

Ohhhhh and now that all the busiest of the busy season is over...........Hip Hop will start again this Thursday!!!!! Yippppeeeee!!!! It's such a fun time!!!! Make sure to pop in on the SCS Unity Hip Hop Forum and join in!!!!

Look Who's A 7th Six Chick!!!!!!!!!

I am soooooooo excited!!!!!!!!!! YESSSS!!!!!! I am the 7th Six Chick at Limelight Papercrafts for January!!!! Yaaay!!!! That means I get to play along with the FABulously talented Mandy and her wonderful DT!!!! Thank you so much Mandy!!! I'm just so happy to be part of the team this month!!!!

The theme for this month was Kids!! We were to create a project that was either for or made with the kiddos!!! So I decided that since Valentine's Day is coming up, a cute little Valentine ATC type card and tin would bring smiles to some kiddos!!! You can make this for them or with them or both!!! LOL


I used Jolly Little Winter because Mandy carries the FABULOUS Unity Stamps!!!! I {{heart}} my Unity!!!!! And these little penguins are sooooo cute!!!! I made 6 little Valentine ATCs. Confession: because I popped up the penguins on some pretty thick pop dots, only 5 of them fit in the tin!!! LOL So, use some thinner pop dot, etc. and then all 6 will fit nicely!!!

I colored with Copics but then added some Stickles in various spots!!! You can find lot of FUN colors of Stickles at Limelight!!! And the half-back Pearls too!!! I'm addicted to Bling in case you forgot!!! ROFL!!!!

A very dear, sweet lady ~ Arlene ~ that I've had the fortune to meet on Splitcoast thru the PIF (Pay It Forward) Image Swap is struggling with a Cancer diagnosis and currently a raging infection. You can read about her HERE. Prayers and cards are coming in so beautifully because of this amazing and caring Paper Crafting community. So I thought maybe a special Blessing Jar would help bring her a smile each day!!!

My idea is for all her friends to send along a favorite quote, scripture, thought or prayer along with their card. Then they can all get put into the jar for sweet Arlene to pull out and read at any time she needs to!!!



Melanie's Hand In Hand stamp set really is so very touching and meaningful that it was the first set that came to mind out of all my stamps (and I have a LOT!!!!). I wanted a brighter, pastel and cheery feel, so I pulled out some fun SU pastel colors!! And my Label 1 nesties that I'm sure lovin'!!!!!

Even though I know there are Copic charts with lots of info........I really wanted to get this done, so I just experimented with skin colors with the Copics that I have. I think I did fairly well even though I still need more practice so I don't have quite as many lines on the larger spaces!

The sentiments in Melane's stamp set are just as deep and touching as the various hands clasped together! I wanted Arlene to feel that whether she's being held by the Hand of God or the hand of a friend, she's never alone!!!

I sure hope she is able to get a lift from this and if you'd like to send a card and/or a little something to put in the jar, please let me know and I'll pass along her address to you!!!

Cute Cookies a la Melanie!!!!!!!!!

So are you enjoying the FABulous Blogaversary Hop that Melanie has going on to celebrate??!!!! Oh you must check it out!!! For this stair step card.......I used Melanie's Have A Cookie stamp set. Ohhh do I love cookies!!! Yep!! I AM the original Cookie Monster!!! Always have been!!!! LOL I pulled out some of my most favorite Basic Grey paper and went to work!! Actually, Mel's sets really DO all the work for you!!! They're just so awesome!!!!! I love all the wonderful sentiments that Melanie always includes!! They let you say the CUTEST things!!! I used some Shimmerz, but it's kinda hard to tell. I couldn't resist some little pearls too!!! I think these pinky, chocolatey cookies look deeeelicious!! I really want some now!!! LOL

More Fun and Prizes With Melanie!!!!

I've been super, super busy!!!! LOL Which of course means totally happy and in my element!!!! I'm just gonna share the project I made for Melanie's Blogaversary for today. It's something new for me!! I stamped on a candle!!!! Now...I did learn a few things...........I ***always*** do since I seldom go look for instructions before I start!!!! LOL One.....you will get permanent black ink alllll over your fingers stamping on candles since you can't put them on an acrylic block as they need to bend!!! Two.....let the ink (I used Memento) dry longer than 10 minutes before you start coloring!!! Three.....I will tell you I used both Copics and SU Markers which seemed to work fine, but I have no idea if coloring on wax is harmful to them or not???

Here's several views. I used some Bling Bling to jazz it up a bit!! I have no idea what that will do as I burn the candle!!!! LOL

I tried tying a ribbon around it........but got the ribbon all inky! Thankfully it did not smear the candle!!!!

This is the first card I made with Melanie's latest set, Hand In Hand.........and oh my!!!! This stamp set is just so heartfelt and touching and meaningful!!! I was thinking this would make a sweet little Congratulations card for a new baby!! Soft colors and the perfect sentiment!!! I just love the innocence and sweetness of this image! Melanie has created amazing stamps...and this new set is no exception!!!!

Happy Stampin' In 2009!!!!!

Well my friends.......it's a new year!!! And the quote that has been really sticking out to me a lot lately is so very appropriate tonite! It's a quote from Anne of Green Gables...one of my faves!!!

"Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it."

Simple........but so powerful! Each day is fresh.......new opportunities, new chances, new starts.....looking forward! Not that we shouldn't look back to learn from our mistakes and cherish our fond memories............but that we see each new day, month, year, etc. as MORE!!! So I wish to all of my fellow amazing blogging/stamping friends.......a very happy and truly NEW year!!!!!

This first card was for the Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoast. The stamper who was featured was the FABulously talented and super sweet BARB!!!!! I just love her!!! And I have a couple of Barb's beautiful creations in my stamp room!! They are so special and well loved!!! I chose THIS awesome card of Barb's to CASE. And I used Unity's beautiful butterfly from the December Kit of the Month and also Simply Said. The wings are stickled to match the dp and really shimmer IRL!!! Of course they do, right??!!! LOL

This card was made for Gina K's Black and White Challenge on Splitcoast. I used Gina K's new butterfly set, Take Flight. It's especially elegant in black and white!!! I used the little branch in the Home Tweet Home stamp set for the bg. And of course some bling!!!! I really love this quote too!!!
